BICZ and Stalefish Gallery at Cat Scratch.
Hey everyone! It’s Bianca, and I’m here to report that the second annual Cat Scratch Art Market was a big success!
Cat Scratch is a one-day art market held in Brampton, designed to celebrate local DIY and underground artists! This year’s Cat Scratch was presented by BICZ and Stalefish Gallery at City Side Café on Oct. 3, 2026.
Together with Stalefish, BICZ transformed a downtown Brampton café into an art market made up of 13 art vendors. All of our vendors were local to the Greater Toronto Area, and ten of them also live, work, and/or grew up in Brampton. Vendors sold everything from zines, prints, toys, buttons, patches, and even original art pieces.
BICZ and Stalefish Gallery set up our own shared table space outside of the cafe, where we invited passers-by and Farmers’ Market stragglers to check out our event.
We also held a mini-giveaway at our table! Cat Scratch visitors could leave a comment about the event on our Scratching Post in exchange for a scratchcard. Winners whose cards revealed a cat symbol would receive the grand prize—a free zine kit, courtesy of BICZ!
This year’s Cat Scratch received over 80 visitors throughout the event! We loved seeing new and familiar faces at the market, and it was amazing to hear a few out-of-town visitors say that they travelled to Brampton solely to attend our event. Brampton is full of so much artistic talent, and Cat Scratch was created to showcase exactly that!
Thank you to everyone who supported the market! If you missed it, no worries—we hope to bring back Cat Scratch Art Market for its third year in 2027.
Please cheer us on, and support your local artists! Check out the list of Cat Scratch 2026 vendors here!
