BICZ Consignment Program
Overview
BICZ is testing out a zine consignment program!
We are always looking for events where we can exhibit our own publications. We also want to bring zines made by our members to these events.
Through this program, we will sell your zines on your behalf at zine fairs and art markets.
Upcoming:
Saturday, September 12, 2026 - Mississauga Literary Festival - Event Details
Saturday, September 19, 2026 - The Rose’s 20th Birthday Artist Market - Event Details
Saturday November 7, 2026 - Mississauga Comic Expo - Event Details
How It Works
To participate, you will need to fill out this form. It will ask for information about you and your zine.
In the form, you will have the option to either end your consignment period after your chosen event, or keep your zines on consignment with BICZ indefinitely. We offer the latter option because BICZ would love to continue to sell our members' consigned zines at future events and markets. If you choose this option, you will still be able to end your consignment period whenever you like. Just send us an email at biczbrampton@gmail.com and we will end your consignment and arrange for your zines to be returned to you.
After submitting the form, you will then have to drop off a few copies of your submitted zine at an upcoming BICZ meetup or arrange this with one of our organizers by emailing us at biczbrampton@gmail.com. We will then display your zines and sell them on your behalf at our table!
Payout
For each zine we sell on your behalf, 80% of the proceeds will go to you and 20% will go to BICZ. Please price your zines accordingly!
The 20% of proceeds that go to BICZ will be used to support our programming and fund future collaborative projects.
If your zines sell, we will pay you via e-transfer or cash. If you prefer to be paid in cash, we can do this at an upcoming meetup or by arranging this with one of your organizers by emailing us at biczbrampton@gmail.com.
Rules
Program Eligibility
To participate in this program, you must either be a Brampton resident or have some connection to Brampton (such as growing up in Brampton, or working here).
Zine Submissions
You are not allowed to submit zines that were not made by you to our consignment program.
However, you can submit zines that were made by you in collaboration with other people. In this case, you must ensure that you have your co-creators’ permission to sell the zines through this program before you submit the zine consignment form.
Zines with any sort of hateful content are not allowed in this consignment program. Additionally, we will not accept zines that were made (in part or in full) by generative AI.
At the time of this writing, we are only accepting one zine for consignment per participant. This means that if you have two zines, Zine A and Zine B, you can consign only one of them with us (either Zine A or Zine B).
Consignment Duration
You have two options for your consignment duration:
You can choose to end your consignment after Zine Dream 16. In this case, BICZ will only exhibit your zines for sale at Zine Dream 16. Any unsold zines will be returned to you at our September meetup. OR:
You can keep your zines on consignment with BICZ indefinitely. This means that BICZ will continue to sell your zines on your behalf at events and/or markets after Zine Dream 16 ends. With this option, you are free to end your consignment period at any time—just email biczbrampton@gmail.com and we will arrange for your zines to be returned to you.
Consignment Program Terms and Conditions:
By submitting the zine consignment form, you agree to the following:
I allow BICZ to sell my zines on my behalf as part of this consignment program.
I confirm that the zine that I will consign to BICZ does not contain the following: any kind of hateful content, and/or any work created (in part or in full) by generative AI.
I understand that, to participate in this consignment program, I must drop off 1-3 copies of my zine at BICZ’s meetup on August 11, 2026.
If I cannot make it to the August 11 meetup, I agree to arrange an alternative drop off date with a BICZ organizer. I agree to make these arrangements by August 10, 2026; if I fail to do so, I understand that BICZ will be unable to accept my zines for their consignment program.
I entrust my zines to BICZ knowing that they will promote their sale at Zine Dream and that they will return any unsold copies to me at their September meetup—unless I have requested to keep my consignment period open indefinitely.
If I have chosen to end my consignment period after Zine Dream 16, I agree to pick up any unsold copies of my zine from BICZ at their September meetup. If I cannot make it to this meetup, I agree to make alternative arrangements with BICZ.
I understand that, if I have chosen to keep my zines on consignment with BICZ indefinitely, I can end my consignment period at any time by contacting biczbrampton@gmail.com.
I understand that BICZ reserves the right to reject zines for their consignment program at their discretion.
I understand that, despite BICZ’s best efforts, there is a risk of my zines being accidentally damaged or stolen before, during, or after Zine Dream. In the unlikely event that my zines are damaged or lost during the consignment period, I agree to indemnify BICZ and hold BICZ harmless of any losses or damages that I may incur.
I have filled out this form accurately, and I understand that I cannot change my form details after submission.
